Faas Truckracing – first place in Promoters Cup at Hungaroring

During this season’s race at Hungaroring, Steffen Faas got off to a flying start as he was holding on to 8th place for a long period in the qualifying race, which inspired confidence among all team members. Unfortunately the engine seemed to have technical problems, forcing the hand of the Faas team who decided to have it replaced.

Up until the second race on Saturday, numerous parts had to be exchanged and owing to a disqualification, Steffen Faas moved up to 1st place in the Promoters Cup. This finishing was testament to the overall performance of the mechanics in the Faas team, raising their hopes for the race on Sunday. After once again experiencing technical issues as the engine slowed down, Steffen and his team decided to not take further risks and withdrew from the Sunday races.

Steffen commented as follows: “Surely it is a bitter disappointment to not be involved and just be a bystander. If we take the positives into the next race, we can pride ourselves for staying in Saturday’s race long enough after replacing several parts of the truck. We can build on that and have time to get ourselves ready for the next race.

The next race is scheduled for July 2nd-3rd at Slovakiaring in Orechová Potôň, Slovakia.
