With a total of four podium places and two victories in the Chrome category, Scania pilot Steffen Faas achieved an almost perfect start to the European Truck Racing Championship season at the Misano World Circuit. The race track on the Italian Adriatic coast was once again bursting at the seams with fans and many show trucks right next to the paddock. For Steffen and the tankpool24-Racing Team, the full attention was naturally focused on the first four races of the season.
In the first race on Saturday afternoon, Steffen took third place in the Chrome category behind José Eduardo Rodrigues and Clemens Hecker after a thrilling duel. Steffen secured his first victory of the weekend in the second race, finishing ahead of John Newell and Clemens Hecker on the Chrome podium. Overnight, the tankpool24-Racing Team also made some changes to the setup of the Scania race truck, which paid off in the first race on Sunday. With an impeccable race, Steffen secured first place on the Chrome podium ahead of José Eduardo Rodrigues and Luis Recuenco, just like the day before.
In the final race of the weekend, Rodrigues was able to pull away at the start while Steffen was stuck in a lively battle group. In the end, the Scania driver crossed the finish line in second place in the Chrome category behind Rodrigues and ahead of Mark Taylor. “That was the best start to the season,” said an all-round satisfied Steffen Faas on Sunday evening. “Two victories in the Chrome category and two more podium places at this great event are really more than I could have dreamed of.” The tankpool24-Racing Team does not have much time to catch its breath now, as the second round of the European Truck Racing Championship season is scheduled for the Slovakia Ring in just under 14 days.
We are pleased to support Steffen Faas as Mabanol!
