At the second round of the European Truck Championship at the Slovakiaring, pilot Steffen Faas experienced a weekend of highs and lows. Great placings on Saturday were followed by a Sunday spent searching for a technical defect.
In the first race on Saturday, Steffen secured the first podium place of the weekend with second place in the Chrome classification. In the second race, the Scania driver again finished second on the podium in the Chrome category. The tankpool24 Racing Team went into the race on Sunday with a lot of momentum.
However, just as Steffen was about to start the morning qualifying session, electronic problems with the Scania race truck surfaced. Although Steffen started the first race, he unfortunately had to finish it in 5th place in the Chrome classification. In the second race on Sunday, luck was not on Steffen’s side either, as he had to park the race truck on the first lap.
“Somewhere we have a small problem in the electronics,” Steffen summed up the mixed weekend on Sunday evening. “It’s probably just a small thing, but unfortunately a small thing with a big impact. Regardless, I am more than satisfied with our performance on Saturday and our Scania will certainly be back on the grid for the next race weekend in Zolder without any problems.”
In just two weeks' time, the European Truck Championship will enter its third round of the season at Circuit Zolder on June 22nd and 23rd. As usual, you can find a best-of selection of photos from the weekend.
